How WICE started

                                                                 Nothing Changes, if Nothing CHANGES...

Woman & women have been advocates, creators, leaders, mothers, founders, business owners and more. We have needed a space within the Cannabis Industry that allows us to come together, share new ideas of what is and isn't working within the cannabis industry. And trust us, there is a lot that isn't working, which includes the reduction of women, within the cannabis industry in the United States. 

In recent reports, the number of women in leadership roles within the cannabis industry has dropped significantly. Was this news surprising? No. Why? Because woman/women push themselves until they burn out. And this industry so far has been no different from any other. The cannabis industry lacks balance within the industry. Women are estimated to make up 12% to 15% of the cannabis industry depending on the report and source. 

Women in Cannabis also known as WICE was created for many reasons with several key goals and objectives. This includes being a woman owned small business event company. The owner and founder had originally entered the cannabis industry to open a testing lab (ancillary services); however, after being at a large cannabis expo December of 2019 to find the vendors needed for her lab, she attended a lady’s night. This sparked her curiously. "What were other women doing in the industry?" The women were placed in a room for a 2-hour mixer with drinks, but no schedule or keynote speaker. Her previous experience in tradeshows schedule of events was much different.  After this expo, she went on family vacation. She took the time to searching for women led and geared tradeshows and events to attend. To her surprise, she found NONE. 

January of 2020 WICE was launched. Helping create and pave the way for women entrepreneurs, creating a space whereby powerful women come together. They connect, inspire and learn together. Which has been our mission from day one. 

The cannabis testing lab has been postponed for now due to the volatile market, high failure business rates and the lack of lending sources that are cost prohibited. New Cannabis licensees for Dispensaries, Growers and Testing in the State of Nevada have been on hold since 2020 after litigation was filed regarding alleged unfair licenses being awarded. The currently only option of entry is to purchase another cannabis business owners license, but they maintain being extremely cost prohibited. 

WICE was created and founded in January of 2020. WICE has continued to grow after the first expo was executed, September of 2021 (Post Covid). In 2022, WICE hosted four expos around the United States. The cities include Atlantic City, New Jersey, Denver, Colorado, Las Vegas, Nevada and San Francsico, California. WICE did not host any events in 2023, as the founder and owner filmed a new gameshow now airing on Fox and Hulu, called "We Are Family" with host Anthony Anderson. WICE CEO was the first woman CEO on a national TV gameshow where her job title was listed as "Cannabis Expo CEO." WICE next major tradeshow is scheduled for August 28th & 29th, 2025 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. We hope to connect, inspire and learn together.
